Word of mouth advertising is huge. Companies grow very fast when one person starts sharing a product or service with another person. Instead of paying media or an advertising firm to get a product or service promoted, companies began turning to Network Marketing in the twentieth century. People have at least two hundred contacts in their network of friends and acquaintances. Building a network is an excellent way to create residual income for years to come.

The first network marketing company began in 1932 when a company named Wachter’s started marketing a sea vegetable supplement. Wachters is still in business today.
