Branding Yourself Online

How to Succeed on the Internet

If you are going to succeed on the internet, it is important to brand yourself. Follow these simple steps and people that work online will better remember you.

1. Creating what is known as Know-Like-Trust is the primary objective of a marketer or business owner. If people do not know, like, and trust you, you should go to work somewhere until you are ready to develop this critical factor on the internet. It takes time but the payoff is huge once you are known.

2. Build Your Subscriber List is extremely important. If you don't have subscribers to share your content about products and services, you don't have a business. Once you have a list, you can share articles and tips with your list. I try to only mail to my list once a week to avoid over saturation of material or offers.

3. Gravatar – Let's you display a thumbnail image of you on all of your comments on the internet. Use the same image on social media as you do on comments you make on websites.

3. Use your real name. If you have nothing to hide, you should get your name out there as much as possible. Everyday I see people on webinars and other forums that use a pseudo name. How do you expect to grow Know-Like-Trust when you use a pseudo name?

4. Stick to one or two niche areas. Don't overextend yourself. If your passion is helping people get fit, stay in your niche and don't start trying to market chocolates or sweets to your subscribers. There is conflict between those two niches.

5. Keep your website laser focused on your niche. This will encourage search traffic and the traffic coming to your website will be targeted meaning they are interested in your fitness niche.

Branding is really important Danielle. I also agree with you that you need to give your real name so that people could easily get in touch with you. You need to build relationship with your audiences so that you will earn their trust. Branding for me is all about leaving remarkable impressions. In this way, people will remember your company and your services and will most likely refer you to his/her friends.
